Egyptian Labor Market in Times of Transition

The conference “Egyptian labour market in times of transition – Which role can active labour market policies play?” is jointly organized by the ILO and GIZ and in co-operation with the Ministry of Manpower and Migration and the Ministry of Education.

The conference invites policy makers to present and discuss international best practices in the provision of ALMPs and initiates a dialogue with decision makers and stakeholders from Egypt in order to identify potential approaches to address the current employment crisis in the country.  The conference thus aims to identify how international experiences might be applied in the Egyptian context and be embedded in existing structures.

Four parallel workshop sessions will be conducted on Day Two, where the conference participants will split into smaller expert groups with the aim to produce policy recommendations for national decision makers.
